The Foul & Miss Rule
Below is a simplified version to make it easier for all players to understand.
A Foul & Miss shall be called when:
a) A player misses a full ball on. 3 misses constitutes a loss of frame.
b) Does not hit the ball hard enough to reach the object ball when snookered.
c) Fails to hit a partial ball on. The ability of the player to be taken into consideration by the referee or marker.
d) Does not make a fair attempt to hit a ball when snookered.
The Mercy Rule
This rule only applies to the first 2 frames in the best of 3 matches.
This rule can only be applied after there are no reds left on the table.
3 snookers plus 1 point would be applied as follows:
-
40 points difference on the yellow
-
38 points difference on the green
-
35 points difference on the brown
-
34 points difference on the blue
-
32 points difference on the pink
If the difference in scores is as set out above, the frame is won on the Mercy Rule.

Handicapping
Each match is played on a Handicapped basis.
The lowest handicapped player in each team will play the corresponding lowest handicapped player in the opposition.
The Handicapping is based on the net handicap of each player.
Ie. Dave’s Handicap = +10
Bob’s Handicap = -6
Therefore Dave will receive a 16 point advantage in each frame played.
If Dave wins the match his handicap will be reduced by 2 points (new handicap of +8 ) the next time he plays. In turn, Bob’s handicap will increase by 2 points (-4)
This pattern of addition and subtraction of points on a Win or a Loss will continue up until the “Handicap Freeze” 3 games before the end of the competition.
All Players MUST play 3 games prior to the Freeze to qualify for the play-offs, Semi Finals, Final, Grand Final.
